Surprisingly Personal Healthcare

“I went to medical school to make people’s lives better. Not so I could work for an insurance company.”

Dr. Goyal, First Primary Care Founder

A patient suffers and waits.

While insurance companies aruge with a doctor about whether her prescribed treatment is “medically necessary,” a patient suffers and waits.

When a doctor refers a patient to a specialist because his patient load doesn’t give him time to dig into the issue himself, a patient suffers and waits.

When a hospital system requires a doctor to triple-book appointment in order to meet quotas, a patient suffers and waits.

The traditional healthcare system is broken and it’s putting the health of millions at risk.
Surprisingly Convenient Healthcare

We are fixing healthcare

We’ve made the doctor experience more enjoyable while costing less.

Same day appointments and zero wait times

Average total time spent in the waiting rooms is 40 minutes or longer, only to spend 7 minutes face-to-face with their doctor. With First Primary Care, our members have no wait time and spend as much time as need with their doctor.

One doctor for all your care

95% of what you need a doctor for is routine and predictable and can be handled in office, or by text, phone, or video chat. We take a much broader scope of care which reduces the amount of specialist referrals. The other 5%? Your First Primary Care doctor will guide you through it.

Knowing what your care costs

The average co-pay in traditional healthcare is $25 to $50 per visit. With us it’s zero. The average co-insurance leaves you responsible for 20% of the final bill. With us it’s zero. With First Primary care you’ll always know what it costs in advance.

The Doctor-Patient Relationship Is Priceless In Medicine

Dr. Geetinder Goyal founded First Primary Care to take doctor-patient relationships back to the “good old days,” back when doctors knew their patients personally and had the freedom to give them the customized, long-term professional care they deserved.
Affordable, professional, thorough, sincere, and tailored to you! I elected to try it out…Cut insurance companies out of what happens between you and your doctor! Best move I’ve made related to health care in my life, for a fraction of the cost of what I was paying. If you’re considering the change from administrative paper pushers deciding what is good for you to a way back to developing a sincere personal relationship with your doctor – definitely I would recommend Dr. Goyal and his team at First Primary Care.

Geetinder Goyal, MD

Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine
Dr. Geetinder Goyal is the Founder and CEO of First Primary Care.  He studied medicine for over a decade, and then realized—our healthcare system really only takes care of the sick and no one is looking out for a patient’s overall health and well being. And that was kind of a bummer. So, he started First Primary Care to turn the system upside down and provide patients with genuine healthcare and not just “sick care”.

Dr. Goyal attended medical school at the Government Medical College in Chandigarh, India. Following that, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston. Dr. Goyal then went on to Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT where his fellowship was in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

In addition to his work at First Primary Care, Dr. Goyal serves as the President of the Houston Chapter of the Free Market Medical Association.

When he is not caring for his patients, Dr. Goyal is an avid runner, loves watching sports, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Le Vo, and their two young daughters.

This is how medicine should look like! Dr. Goyal did a fabulous job running all the necessary tests, and giving me hope with professional advise and the least expensive prescription I have ever paid. This is a case where professionalism coexists with no copayments, no wait time, and daily follow ups utilizing very simple technology.

Peter Del Buono, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practioner

Peter Del Buono has been a part of the First Primary Care team since day one.  His path into medicine began with a passion for physical activity and an interest in human physiology. He began with an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology and worked as a Division I collegiate strength and conditioning coach while pursuing a masters degree in sports psychology. After seeing friends and loved ones struggle with maintaining their health, his interest shifted from elite athletes to helping everyday people live their healthiest lives.

Peter then began a fifteen-year transition from a peak performance specialist to a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). He obtained his BSC in Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He then went to the University of Texas Medical Branch for his Bachelor of Science, Nursing as well as his Masters of Science, Nursing.

As Peter puts it, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner was the best choice that he’s ever made; it’s rewarding and enjoyable to be a key part of people’s efforts to achieve and maintain better health.

In his free time, Peter enjoys trying new restaurants around the Houston area and traveling.

I researched all of my options with regards to health coverage & service. I decided to join First Primary Care as a patient & I know I made the right decision. I visited Dr. Geetu & Peter for a checkup & they were absolutely fantastic. Insurance companies have been ripping us off for years & it’s about time there’s a change. I’ll soon have my employees signed up as well.

Cassandra Wertz, MD

Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine

Dr. Wertz’s patients know her to be empathetic, happy, and dependable. While she enjoys the variation that primary care allows, she is passionate about treating anxiety, depression, weight management, and preventative care.

Since her earliest memories in kindergarten, Dr. Wertz has always known her calling to be a physician. She went on to become a graduate of UT Austin, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine and trained at Baylor College of Medicine.

Outside the clinic, you can find her alongside her high school sweetheart husband and spunky daughter, Sophia, probably walking their two dogs. They keep busy riding bikes, playing games, attending plays, musicals, and Astros games. After all that, Dr. Wertz makes time for watercolor painting (although allegedly not very good at it), cheering on the San Antonio Spurs, and preparing her favorite snack—a bagel loaded with lots (and lots!) of cream cheese.

Now accepting new patients, Dr. Wertz loves the process of getting to know people on a deeper level and helping them navigate the problems that arise through life.

Dr. Wertz is an outstanding doctor, she takes the time to really listen to what is going on and offers many different approaches! This is the first time I actually feel comfortable talking with a doctor and it is a breathe of fresh air to find a physician who is not only funny but truly cares about her patients.

But being family-oriented, she always finds her way back home to Houston to snuggle up with her husband and beloved corgi, Ollie, in their home theater. Ask her what’s next on the to-do list, she’s always got one, and coffee with oat milk is definitely at the top of it.
